Hosting fail no more!

The Wordpress Super-Cache plugin I installed wasn’t working properly, and this site was overloading Dreamhost’s server, so they took it offline.

All credit to Dreamhost though, they got in touch pretty fast, and fixed the problem with the plugin for me, thus averting the fail. Cheers Jason!

Teh failz, I’ve not been updating them…

Sorry for the quiet spell, been busy with some non-fail related shenanigans.

However, your daily shipment of fail should now be back in effect, so stay tuned!

And keep the awesome submissions coming (remember to add your fail caption onto the image BEFORE you send it, I don’t have time to caption images for you)…

Speaking of which, any programmers up for building a simple Fail-builder in the style of the Lol-cat builder?

Fail is officially in fashion!

Big up to the Times Magazine which featured an article on ‘Fail’ in their Microtrends section today:

A year ago, the top stupid internet trend was the LOLcat (take picture of cat, add amusing, badly spelt caption, repeat). In 2008, the world economy is faltering and the happy LOLcat has been replaced with one ubiquitous word: FAIL.

times_failure_blogs.png

The format is simple: an image of human (or animal) hubris or stupidity, with the word FAIL written across it. It evolved in message boards and forums. The term “fail” (and its opposite, “win”) has been around for a long time, but FAILcats (for want of a better word) have only been popular for a few months. The superlative of “fail” is “Epic Fail”.

Somehow they got the impression that Shipment of Fail was the  first fail blog…  (Fail! It wasn’t, but you already knew that), but overall I would say i’s a fairly hefty shipment of sucess all round :) Although I don’t think LOLcats are anywhere near on their way out yet…

Shipment of fail… success!

Inspired by the interminable http://icanhascheezburger.com/ and repeated lol-ing at this pic, I decided to setup a blog dedicated to ‘fail’. (Does anyone know who made it originally?)

Browse the fails, rate them, and then start sending in your own fail pics…
Your shipment of fail has been delivered!
